The church dates from 1902, which is a church from Djúpavogur.
Papeyjarkirkja is a wooden house, 5,27 m long and 3,39 m wide. The roof is crossed and clad with a corrugated iron, while the walls clad vertically plated tarpaulin. The church stands on a rocky platform and is stowed down on corners with chains. On each side of the church there are two mailboxes with two three-bed frames and a four-door window is featured over church doors. Before church doors there is a door and a beer over the door.
Inside the doors are the front and the choir one; The wall bell on the north side is an unbroken letter between, but on the south side, a wall bell is interrupted by a pulpit in front of the inner window. Altari is with a choir power, close to the north wall. The walls are clad with a panel of seats and the ceiling of bites is across the whole church.
