Stapafell is about 526 m high ridge shaped fresh momentum and won volcanic mountain on the south slopes of the Snæfellsjökull, about 3 km north of the cave and above Arnarstapa. No road leads up the mountain to the north east of Kýrskarð and Jokulhals to Ólafsvíkur. Norðasutan the famous cave's Bottom Mount which is Rauðfeldsgjá and you can hike along the canyon towards the bottom. Top of the Rock Stapafell Cross Fell, an ancient icon of the cast is considered to be the residence of dulvætta.
