Vigur is an island in Ísafjarðardjúp and one of the best-known bird islands in the Westfjords.

The island hosts large colonies of eider ducks as well as puffins, Arctic terns, and black guillemots. Traditional eider farming is still practised and has been part of island life for generations.

Vigur is privately owned but open to visitors during summer. It is a popular destination for boat tours focusing on wildlife, history, and the unique culture of Iceland’s islands.
