Brúarpotturinn
Brúarpotturinn is a small and peaceful natural hot pool
located near
Tálknafjörður
in the
Westfjords
of Iceland.
The pool lies close to a small bridge crossing a stream,
which is how it received its name — “the Bridge Pool”.
The hot spring is formed where geothermal water
emerges from the ground and mixes with cold freshwater,
creating a pleasantly warm bathing temperature.
The pool is modest in size
but offers a relaxing and intimate experience
surrounded by quiet fjord landscapes.
Brúarpotturinn is less known than many of Iceland’s famous hot springs,
making it a favourite among travellers
seeking tranquil locations away from crowds.
From the pool, visitors can enjoy views over the fjord,
nearby mountains and the changing light
that characterises the Westfjords.
Access to the hot spring is relatively easy
during summer months,
though conditions may vary depending on weather
and water levels in the stream.
As with all natural hot springs in Iceland,
visitors are encouraged to treat the site with care
and leave no trace behind.
Brúarpotturinn is a fine example of Iceland’s small-scale geothermal wonders —
a simple, natural pool where warm water,
rugged landscapes and peaceful surroundings
come together to create a memorable experience.
