Hafragilsfoss

Hafragilsfoss is a powerful waterfall in the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum, located downstream from Dettifoss within Jökulsárgljúfur canyon. The waterfall plunges deep into a narrow and dramatic gorge.

Although less visited than Dettifoss, many consider Hafragilsfoss equally impressive. From viewing platforms on the west side of the river, visitors can experience the immense scale and raw power of the glacial river.

Hafragilsfoss is part of Vatnajökull National Park and is a striking stop when exploring the waterfalls of northeast Iceland.
