Klifbrekkufossar are a spectacular row of waterfalls located at the head of the fjord in Mjóifjörður, East Iceland. The waterfalls can be seen on the right-hand side of the road when driving down from the Mjóifjörður mountain pass.
Multiple streams of water cascade down the steep mountainsides, creating an impressive and dramatic scene, particularly during periods of high runoff. The waterfalls form a striking contrast against the rugged mountain slopes and the narrow fjord below.
Klifbrekkufossar are clearly visible from the road, making them an accessible and memorable sight for travelers passing through the area. Their location deep within the fjord enhances the sense of scale and highlights the raw beauty of the surrounding landscape.
The waterfall row is a fine example of East Iceland’s natural character, where steep mountains, flowing water, and remote fjord landscapes come together in a powerful and scenic setting.
Fossarnir eru margir í röð.
