Krosslaug, also known as Reykjalaug, is an ancient geothermal pool located in Lundarreykjadalur valley in the Borgarfjörður region. The pool lies approximately seven kilometers upstream from the confluence of the Tunguá and Grímsá rivers, just below Brautartunga.
With a temperature of around 43°C, the pool has been used for bathing for centuries, both for health benefits and recreation. Krosslaug is a protected site and enclosed for preservation, reflecting its significant cultural and historical value.
The stone walls of the pool were reconstructed in 1980 under the supervision of the National Heritage authorities, with the aim of preserving its traditional appearance. The surroundings are peaceful and scenic, offering visitors a unique experience where history and nature come together.
