This waterfall does not have an official or historical name, but over time it has been known by several local names. Among residents, it has often been referred to as Silfurfoss, Litli-foss, or simply “the waterfall in the hills”.
On Google Maps, the waterfall is labeled as Huldufoss, a name that has gradually become more widely used by visitors. The name suits the waterfall well, as it is somewhat hidden in the landscape and often comes as a pleasant surprise.
The waterfall is modest yet beautiful, surrounded by grassy hills and gentle terrain. It offers a peaceful and quiet nature experience and is a good example of the many lesser-known or unofficially named waterfalls found throughout Iceland.
