The cave is located in the Eyjafjöll mountains. Although the walk to the cave is relatively short, the visit is well worth the effort. A clear and well-maintained footpath leads from a nearby parking area, and the cave is marked on Iceland’s national road maps.
Access to the cave requires a climb of approximately four meters, which may not be suitable for everyone. The cave itself is not large, but it is associated with an important local history that adds to its significance.
A more detailed account of the cave’s history will be provided later.
