Drynjandi is a waterfall in the Hvalá river in Ófeigsfjörður on the Strandir coast in the Westfjords of Iceland. It is located in a remote and rugged landscape where nature remains largely untouched.
The waterfall has received considerable attention due to proposed hydropower developments in the Hvalá river system. Discussions surrounding Drynjandi have drawn focus to the natural value of the area, where waterfalls, rivers, and wilderness form a sensitive and interconnected ecosystem.
Drynjandi itself is an impressive waterfall, notable for both its size and setting, plunging powerfully into the river below. It has become a symbol of the debate between conservation and development in one of Iceland’s most remote and pristine regions.
Drynjandi er áhugaverður staður á Íslandi sem vert er að heimsækja.
