Hraunsvatn is a scenic lake located in a quiet and remote natural setting. The hike to the lake takes approximately one hour from Engimýri Guesthouse, following a trail through varied terrain.
The lake was formed when a large rockslide from Drangafjall blocked the outflow of the Vasdalur valley. This natural dam caused water to accumulate, resulting in the formation of Hraunsvatn.
The lake is home to Arctic char, making it of interest to anglers and nature enthusiasts. The surrounding landscape and sense of isolation create a peaceful and memorable destination.
Hraunsvatn liggur í fallegu umhverfi.
Vatnið er hluti af fjölbreyttu landslagi.
