Húsavík Lighthouse is located just outside the town of Húsavík in North Iceland. The lighthouse is 12 meters tall and was built in 1956. It stands approximately 49 meters above sea level, making it clearly visible from both land and sea.
The lighthouse plays an important role in guiding vessels in and out of the harbor and has long been one of the town’s recognizable landmarks. Its location also offers wide views across Skjálfandi Bay and the surrounding coastline.
Húsavík Lighthouse is a popular spot for walking and photography, particularly during sunset or when the northern lights appear above the bay.
