Úlfarsfell is a prominent hill located south of
Mosfellsbær, rising to a height of approximately 296 meters. The hill
is well known for its steep cliffs on the western side and its varied
natural surroundings.
On the western slopes lies Hamrahlíðarskógur, a scenic forested area
offering pleasant walking trails through woodland and open hillsides.
Úlfarsfell is situated on the boundary between Reykjavík and
Mosfellsbær, making it easily accessible from several directions.
There are multiple hiking routes to the summit of Úlfarsfell, including
trails from Hamrahlíðarskógur, Skarhólamýri, and Hafravatnsvegur near
Skyggnir. The routes vary in length and difficulty, suitable for both
casual walkers and more experienced hikers.
At the summit, visitors will find a guestbook and enjoy wide views over
the Capital Region, Mosfellsbær, and the surrounding mountains. Úlfarsfell
is a popular destination for short and accessible hikes close to urban
