Njarðvík Church is the parish church of Njarðvík and is located in Njarðvík, part of Reykjanesbær on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwest Iceland. The church is one of the town’s main landmarks and plays an important role in local community life.
The present church was consecrated in 1990, replacing an older building that had served the parish for decades. Its architecture is modern and understated, featuring a bright interior and excellent acoustics, making it suitable for concerts and cultural events.
The church stands in a residential area close to schools, sports facilities and everyday services. It is only a short distance from Keflavík and other districts within Reykjanesbær.
Visitors often combine a stop at the church with exploration of nearby natural attractions such as Reykjanes Lighthouse, Gunnuhver Hot Springs and Brimketill Lava Pool.
Njarðvík Church is therefore not only a place of worship, but also a part of the living heritage and cultural landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula.
