Reykjavík Harbour is the main harbour of Iceland’s capital and one of the country’s most important port areas. Located next to downtown Reykjavík, it has played a vital role in the city’s economic, commercial, and maritime history.
Historically centred around fishing and trade, the harbour has evolved into a multifunctional port serving fishing vessels, passenger ferries, cruise ships, and tourism activities.
Several of Reykjavík’s most famous attractions are located by the harbour, including Harpa Concert Hall, the Sun Voyager sculpture, and the historic Old Harbour, which is a hub for whale-watching tours and boat excursions.
Today, Reykjavík Harbour is also a popular waterfront area where visitors can stroll along the shoreline, enjoy cafés and restaurants, and experience the lively atmosphere of the city by the sea.
