Þórisstaðavatn is one of three lakes located in Svínadalur in the Leirársveit area of West Iceland. The lakes form part of the Laxá river system in Leirársveit and play an important role in the local ecosystem.
Atlantic salmon migrate into the lakes, and resident trout populations are also found there, including Arctic char and brown trout. As a result, Þórisstaðavatn is a popular fishing destination and attracts both anglers and nature enthusiasts.
The surface area of the lake is approximately 1.37 km2, and it lies at an elevation of about 71 meters above sea level. The maximum depth of Þórisstaðavatn is around 24 meters. Its calm surroundings, vegetation, and natural beauty make it a peaceful and scenic place to visit.
