Þórufoss is a waterfall in the river Laxá in Kjós, South Iceland, and marks the uppermost fishing spot of the river. The waterfall is approximately 18 meters high and plunges into a narrow and dramatic gorge.
Just above the waterfall lies Stíflisdalsvatn, a lake that forms the headwaters of the river before it drops over the falls. The surrounding landscape consists of open terrain, vegetation, and dark rock formations.
Þórufoss became internationally known after appearing in the television series Game of Thrones. In the fourth season, the waterfall is featured in a scene where a dragon emerges from the gorge, drawing global attention to the location.
