Leiðarendi is a very accessible lava cave and one of the best-known caves on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The cave is approximately 750 meters long and is located in a lava field close to Helgafell.
Access to Leiðarendi is straightforward. The route leads from Hafnarfjörður toward the Bláfjöll mountains, where a small parking area can be found on the left side of the road. From there, a clear footpath leads directly to the cave entrance.
Leiðarendi is popular with hikers and cave explorers due to its easy access and varied lava formations inside the cave. Visitors should take care and be properly equipped, as conditions inside caves can be challenging.
