Rústhellir is a man-made cave that shows clear signs of human use in the past. The cave has been shaped and modified by hand, and its name suggests the presence of ruins or structures associated with shelter, storage, or habitation.
Caves like this were commonly used as temporary shelters, animal housing, or storage spaces and are important reminders of how people adapted to their environment in earlier times.
